Welcome to Pinafores and Peonies

A very warm welcome to Pinafores and Peonies!

I’m Lucy. I’m a 30-something primary school music teacher living in Liverpool, UK with my husband Michael and our mischievous Yorkshire Terrier Bonnie. We bought a beautiful 1930s semi detached house earlier this year, and I’m going to use this blog to document the bits and bobs I adorn it with along the way.

I’ve always enjoyed writing, and I’ve had various blogs over the years. I struggled to settle on one particular topic or theme, and to figure out what my ‘thing’ is.  In the end, all of them fell by the wayside and ended up being deleted. I was thinking about maybe a fashion or style blog, but thought hmm, but all I wear is pinafores so it wouldn’t be very interesting… and then my next thought was aha! Pinafores are my thing! A pinafore of any incarnation with a Breton top or some kind of shirt is pretty much my weekend uniform.

I chose ‘peonies’ because, like a lot of people, I absolutely love flowers. My husband affectionally calls me ‘chintzy’ because of my slight obsession with Cath Kidston and all things floral! My aim is to create an English country cottage garden in our new house, to recreate the beautiful jumble of wildflowers I had in my wedding bouquet. I wore a mix of Jo Malone’s Wild Bluebell and Peony & Blush Suede for my wedding day, and those delicate floral scents take me back to the happiest of days.

This will be my little corner of the internet to document my house faffs, woodland adventures, puppy squishes, pinafore-inspired fashion choices and weekend wanderings. I do hope you enjoy my ramblings!
